On Wednesday, 27 January 2021, George Kapetanios (King's College London) will give a webinar with the title: "Testing the Adequacy of the Fixed Effects Estimator in the Presence of Cross-section Dependence" at 16:00. The event is jointly hosted by the Research Seminar Series of the Department of Economics of the University of Cyprus, the Department of International and European Economic Studies and the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business.

The UCY/AUEB joint webinar brings together "socially distanced" economists from Greece, Cyprus, and abroad; and exposes them to state-of-the-art research presented by experts in various fields of economics. The main goal is to exploit the current technological possibilities and make interesting work accessible to a wider audience, but also to preserve the intimacy of conventional seminars by allowing lively discussions and interactions.

H Μονάδα Πρακτικής Άσκησης και Διασύνδεσης με την αγορά εργασίας ΟΠΑ διοργανώνει σεμινάρια προετοιμασίας για όσους φοιτητές θα συμμετάσχουν στο Πρόγραμμα Πρακτικής Άσκησης κατά την Εαρινή περίοδο 2021.

Σημείωση: Οι φοιτητές που θα παρακολουθήσουν το σεμινάριο είναι απαραίτητο να έχουν εκτυπωμένο το προσωπικό τους βιογραφικό σημείωμα για να μπορούν να κάνουν τυχόν αλλαγές.

Το τμήμα Στατιστικής του ΟΠΑ και ο Επίκουρος Καθηγητής Νικολαος Δεμίρης διοργανώνουν ημερίδα για τα Μαθηματικά της Πανδημίας.

Ότι θέλετε να μάθετε για τις τεχνικές, μοντέλα και τεχνολογία αιχμής στον τρόπο μελέτης και αναχαίτισης του Covid-19.
 

• Γιατί το καλύτερο όπλο μας έναντι στην Πανδημία είναι η Επιστήμη, τα Μαθηματικά και η Στατιστική;
• Πόσο αποτελεσματικά είναι τα μέτρα;
• Πώς εκτιμάμε το "μαγικό" Rt;
• Πώς γίνονται οι δειγματοληψίες των διαγνωστικών τεστ στις πύλες της χώρας; Πώς εμπλέκεται η Στατιστική κατά Bayes, οι τεχνικές Επιχειρησιακής έρευνας και η Μηχανική Μάθηση;
• Πώς συνθέτουμε τα αποτελέσματα που έχουμε παγκοσμίως για να καταλάβουμε την εξέλιξη της πανδημίας χρησιμοποιώντας Στατιστικά Μοντέλα Bayes;
