Hellenic Economic Library Network (H.E.LI.N.) - 2017 Activities

For 2017, the Hellenic Economic Library Network (H.E.LI.N.) has scheduled the following events:

  1. Educational Visits to Libraries - H.E.LI.N. Members for anyone who is interested in visiting these libraries and learning about their collections, their sources, and services.
  2. Second Circle of Lectures on Economics for Libraries, which meets the requests of the public who participated in the First Circle of Lectures in 2016.

A Guided Tour of the Library at the Centre of Planning and Economic Research (KEPE) - Talk by Mr. Ioannis Mamais
First Lecture in the Second Circle of Lectures on Economics for Libraries, 2017

The Library of the Centre of Planning and Economic Research has organized a talk and a guided tour for the public on its premises, Amerikis 11, Athens, on Friday, March 31, 2017. The talk and guided tour are part of the program of activities that the Hellenic Economic Library Network (H.E.LI.N.) has scheduled for 2017, including educational visits to the Member Libraries of the Network.

The audience will have the opportunity to listen to a talk by Mr. Ioannis Mamais, a publisher and printer for Gutenberg Publications. Mr. Mamais has, for years, been engaged in the artistic side of books. His talk will be about art and the science of art in books and he will share his love of and passion for books. The talk will begin at 15:00 (duration: about 30 minutes).

Following Mr. Mamais' talk, there will be a guided tour of the Library at the Centre of Planning and Economic Research. Participants will learn about the Library's collection and services. The first lecture in the Second Circle of Lectures on Economics for Libraries will begin at 16:00. The purpose of this lecture is to present the sources of economics information which a researcher can find in the economic libraries of H.E.LI.N. Several of these sources have been mentioned in the First Circle of Lectures. The program is below:
