Andriana Vlachou is Professor at the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business. She studied at the Athens University of Economics and Business (B.Sc. in Economics) and University of Massachusetts, Ahmerst (M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Economics).

She has worked as Visiting Professor at University of Massachusetts, Boston, U.S.A., SOAS, University of London, U.K., University of Massachusetts, Amherst, U.S.A.

Her fields of teaching and research include Economic Theory, Environmental and Resource Economics, Microeconomics, Marxian Economics, History of Economic Thought.

She served as a teaching and research assistant at University of Massachusetts, Amherst during her graduate studies (1978-1983).  She has worked as Research Associate at the Department of Industrial Engineering, Technical University of Athens (1983) and as a research economist at the Research Division, Panhellenic Confederation of Agricultural Cooperatives (1983-85). She has also worked as a research economist at the General Direction of Finance and Department of Planning of the Public Power Corporation of Greece (1985-1989).

She has published many articles ίn international academic journals, including Cambridge Journal of Economics, Southern Economic Journal, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Journal οf Policy Modeling, Enνironmetrics, Capitalism, Nature, Socialism, Review of Radical and Political Economics, Rethinking Marxism, Science & Society and others. She has edited Contemporary Economic Theory: Radical Critiques of Neoliberalism (Macmillan & St. Martin's Press, 1999), The Political Economy of Capitalism (Kritiki, 2009 in Greek), Economic Crisis and Greece (with N. Theocarakis and M. Milonakis; Gutenberg and the Greek Scientific Association for Political Economy, 2011, in Greek). She is an editor-at-large of Capitalism, Nature, Socialism.
