Vassalos Paraskevas

Paraskevas (Paris) Vassalos is a Professor in the Department of Informatics at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Ioannina, where he also completed both his Master's and Ph.D. studies. Prior to his appointment as a Lecturer in the Department of Informatics at AUEB in 2006, he served as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Genoa, Italy. Since 2018, he has been the Director of the Interinstitutional Master's Program (IMP) in "Business  Mathematics"
His  research interests lie in the field of Numerical Analysis, with a particular focus on the numerical solution of linear systems, spectral analysis of matrices, and the numerical solution of differential equations. His scholarly contributions include more than 25 research publications in prestigious international scientific journals, including leading titles in the field such as “Numerische Mathematik”, “SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing”,”SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications”, and “Journal of Numerical Mathematics”.
He has participated in over 30 international scientific conferences, several of which as an invited speaker. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for numerous international scientific journals and is a regular reviewer for Mathematical Reviews. He  has also acted as a principal investigator in both Greek and international research projects, further advancing his contributions to the field of Numerical Analysis and its applications.
