TSOUKNIDIS DIMITRIS
Dimitris A. Tsouknidis is an Associate Professor of Shipping Finance at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He is the Director of the MSc in International Shipping, Finance, and Management. In the past, he was a full-time faculty member at Cyprus University of Technology (Cyprus), the University of Piraeus (Greece), and the University of Bradford (UK), while he was a Visiting Professor at the ICMA Centre of the University of Reading (UK), the Hellenic Open University (Greece), and the ALBA Graduate Business School (Greece), among others. He received a BSc in Economics from the University of Thessaly (Greece), an MSc in Computational Finance from the University of Essex (UK), an MBA, and a PhD in Finance from AUEB.
He has published over 35 academic studies in prestigious peer-reviewed scientific journals and book chapters in collective volumes. His research has been published in journals such as the Journal of the Royal Statistical Society: Series A, Energy Economics, Transportation Research Part E (× 6), Journal of International Money and Finance (× 3), Financial Markets Institutions and Instruments, International Review of Financial Analysis, European Journal of Finance, International Journal of Finance and Economics, European Management Review, Applied Economics, Maritime Policy and Management (× 5), and Maritime Economics and Logistics (× 2). He has co-authored the book Freight Derivatives and Risk Management in Shipping published by Routledge Taylor and Francis Group, and has contributed chapters in collective volumes published by Oxford University Press. He serves as an associate editor, member of the editorial board, and reviewer in several international scientific journals. He has received teaching excellence awards from the Athens University of Economics and Business and best paper awards from the global conference of the International Association of Maritime Economists (IAME). He has served on the scientific committee of conferences held by the European Financial Management Association and International Association of Maritime Economists.
