Graduate of the Department of Mathematics, University of Patras (2003). He obtained an M.Sc in Applied Statistics (2005) and a Ph.D in Statistics (2010) from the Department of Statistics & Insurance Science, University of Piraeus.

In 2020, he was elected Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at the Athens University of Economics and Business, and in 2026 he was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor.

He worked as a post-doc Research Associate at the following universities:

2011-2012 Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA), Évry, Île-de-France

2012-2015 Faculty of Life Science, University of Manchester, UK

2015-2018 Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health, University of Manchester, UK

Between 2018-2020 he worked as adjunct lecturer at Athens University of Economics and Business.

His research interests are focused on estimation of finite mixture models, model-based clustering, Bayesian and Computational Statistics, cure rate models, and inference on big Bioinformatics data.
