NIKANDROU IRINI

Irene Nikandrou is Professor of Corporate Communication and Human Resource Management and Chair of the Department of Marketing and Communication at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). She also serves as Chair of the University’s Committee for Gender Equality and Anti-Discrimination.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Piraeus, an MA in Sociology with a specialization in the Sociology of Work from Boston College, and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She received her PhD in Business Administration, with a specialization in Organizational Behavior, from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
She has received Teaching Excellence Awards from the Athens University of Economics and Business. Her research has been published in leading international academic journals, including the Human Resource Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Managerial Psychology, and Management Decision, among others.
She is the Principal Investigator of the Horizon project “EUCoWork: Developing Compassionate Workplaces” and has also participated in other Horizon and Erasmus+ research projects. Her research interests focus on positive approaches to organizations, as well as innovative methods of employee training and development.
She has extensive academic teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as substantial training and consulting experience with organizations, particularly in the development of human resource management processes and systems and in conducting diagnostic surveys on organizational culture, employee satisfaction, and employee engagement.
