AMANATIDIS GEORGIOS

Department of Informatics

Georgios Amanatidis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (since December 2024) and a Lead Researcher at the Archimedes Unit of the Athena Research Center (since February 2023).

He has been a Senior Lecturer (2023-2024) and a Lecturer (2020-2023) at the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science of the University of Essex in the United Kingdom, a Research Associate (2020-2021) at the Institute for Logic, Language and of Computation of the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands, a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher (2019-2020) at the Department of Computer, Control and Management Engineering of the Sapienza University of Rome in Italy, and a Postdoctoral Researcher (2017-2019) at the Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI) in the Netherlands.

He has received a PhD in Computer Science (2017) from the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business. The title of his PhD thesis is "Algorithmic and mechanism design aspects of problems with limited―or no―payments". He also holds a Diploma in Applied Mathematics from the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens, and a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the Georgia Institute of Technology in the USA.

His research interests include algorithmic problems at the intersection of Discrete Mathematics, Computer Science and Economics, and in particular problems in fair division, mechanism design and graph sampling.
