Personal Data Protection
As of 25/05/2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 became effective, establishing a single legal framework for the protection of personal data in all EU Member States.
In full compliance with the requirements of the GDPR and national legislation, the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) treats with respect and sensitivity the personal data of individuals that it processes in order to fulfil its mission.
In this context, the AUEB undertakes personal data processing operations that make it a Data Controller.
Personal data are information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ('data subject'). An identifiable natural person is one whose identity can be verified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, etc.
The basic principles governing the processing of data are lawfulness, objectivity and transparency, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage period limitation, integrity and confidentiality.
The AUEB processes personal data only for the purposes for which they have been collected and for as long as necessary under the applicable legal and regulatory framework.
