The first Train-the-Trainers pilot for Entrepreneurship
at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB)

On Thursday 17 and Friday 18 September 2020, the first Train-the-Trainers program for Entrepreneurship was organized by the entreTime project on behalf of the European Commission.

The vision behind this program is to train non-entrepreneurship professors and educators across Europe to incorporate new training methods in their courses with the objective to develop Entrepreneurial Competences for all the participants. Following a distinctive philosophy which considers entrepreneurship as a unique pedagogical teaching method, the first Train-the-Trainers pilot comprised a series of lectures and workshops on the development of innovative ideas and entrepreneurial mindset.

The entreTime consortium includes some of the most experienced and acknowledged organizations in the field of entrepreneurship education in Europe as well as overseas. Its members include some of the most entrepreneurial universities, as well as top-level providers of innovation, research and education policy advice and an international network of triple helix stakeholders. The Athens Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ACEin) represents AUEB in this consortium.

Among the participants were the Vice-Rectors of AUEB as well as professors and directors of postgraduate programs of AUEB and other Universities throughout Greece. In the beginning of the event Ms Dana Adriana Puia Morel, on behalf of the European Commission, stressed the importance of developing entrepreneurial competences and mindset for all the students in Europe for achieving the goals of the Green Deal. Moreover, Prof. Vasileios Vasdekis, Vice-Rector of AUEB, declared the intention of the University to lead this new approach in the country for the development of Entrepreneurial Competences at the level of tertiary education. Finally, the two-days Train-the-Trainers pilot is supported by HEInnovate and its speakers are all expert members of the HEInnovate committee.
