Debating Society
The Debating Society of Athens University of Economics and Business began operating in 2003. Its main objective is to spread the sport of debating in the university community, bringing students into contact with one of the most exciting and entertaining activities, and teaching them to address an audience and to develop arguments.
The Society represents the University at every major event in Greece and abroad, showcasing its dynamic speakers and earning top positions in competitions. At the same time, it organizes the Athens University of Economics and Business Debating Championship, at which university groups from all over Greece compete in debating contests, thus improving their skills while trying to win positions among the best speakers.
Every Thursday the Debating Society meets at 19:00 at Athens University of Economics and Business. At the meetings, seminars are given on developing arguments and debating contests are held, through which speakers are taught how to build and present arguments and train for the upcoming championships.
