1st Student Workshop on Dynamic Macroeconomics, AUEB
On the 12th of December 2024, the 1st Student Workshop on Dynamic Macroeconomics was held at the Troias Building. This workshop was entirely co-organized by Erasmus students and undergraduate students from the Department of Economics.
The event began with an opening address by Ms. Kleopatra Nteliou from the AUEB Erasmus Office.
The program featured three invited talks:
- Antzelos Kyriazis from the Global Macro Department of Franklin Templeton, USA, he connected macroeconomic theory with real-world practical applications from a research analyst’s perspective.
- Soritios Saperas from the Bank of Greece, presented findings from the Household Finance and Consumption Survey for Greece and the Euro Area.
- Stylianos Gogos from Eurobank - presented an overview of the Greek economy and discussed its future challenges.
Erasmus and AUEB students presented their research on topics including business and monetary cycles, fiscal sustainability, minimum wage policies, monetary and exchange rate policy in the Swiss economy, and the role of institutions in economic development.
The organizing committee, composed of Balatsouras Ilias, Chairopoulou Alexandra, Grammenidis Evaggelos, Papangeli Maria, and Rousalis Stylianos, collaborated with Erasmus and AUEB students. This workshop was the outcome of the courses Public Economics, Monetary Theory and Policy, and Macroeconomic Theory II taught by Assistant Professor Petros Varthalitis.
