Department of Informatics

Themos Stafylakis received his first degree from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA (2004), his MSc degree on Communication and Signal Processing from Imperial College London (2005), and his PhD from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA (2011). He has served as Post-Doc researcher in speech and speaker recognition at the École de Technologie Supérieure (2011-2013) and the Centre de recherche informatique de Montréal (2011-2016). He then joined the University of Nottingham (UK) as a Post-Doc researcher in audiovisual speech recognition (Marie Sklodowska-Curie individual fellowship, 2016-2018). He then became head of machine learning and voice biometrics at Omilia (Cyprus and Greece, 2018-2024). In 2023 he was elected Associate Professor at the department of Informatics of Athens University of Economics and Business. In parallel, he is an affiliate researcher at the "Archimedes" research unit of "Athena" research center.
