STAFYLAKIS THEMOS

Department of Informatics

Themos Stafylakis is a graduate of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA (2004), holds a master's degree from Imperial College London (2005), and a PhD in voice applications from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA (2011). He was a postdoctoral researcher at ÉTS University of Montreal (2011-2013) and at the CRIM research center (2011-2016) with a research focus on speaker recognition. He continued at the University of Nottingham (UK) on audiovisual speech recognition (Marie Sklodowska-Curie individual fellowship, 2016-2018). He then became the head of the machine learning and voice biometrics departments of the company Omilia (Cyprus and Greece, 2018-present). In 2023 he was unanimously elected Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics of the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is also a collaborating researcher at the Archimedes unit of the "Athena" Research Center.
