Anastasiou Thomas
THOMAS ANASTASSIOU is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Athens University of Economics and Business. He holds a B.A. Degree from the Athens University of Economics and Business, a Masters' Degree from Duke University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Sussex. He worked as a scientific researcher for fiscal policy issues at Duke University. He also worked as an educational adviser at the Greek Centre of Public Administration. He holds scholarships for university studies and research from the Greek National Scholarship Foundation, the Greek Ministry of Labour, the Fulbright Foundation, the European Union, the Committee on International Studies (C.O.I.S), the Research Triangle Centre, the Duke University, and the Greek Ministry of Education. He has undertaken research appointments by the Greek Ministry of Development, the European Union, the Greek Ministry of Press and Media, the Greek Economic Chamber, the Centre of Economic Research, the Organization for Vocational Education and Training and the Greek Employment Organization. He taught at Duke University, University Libre de Bruxelles and Comenius University. He also taught at the Greek Open University and has been an invited lecturer at the Centre of Economic Research, Athens, Greek Business Expanding Centre, and the Greek National School of Public Administration. He participated and organized seminars referring to Macroeconomic Policy issues, Budgeting, and Fiscal Harmonization. He also worked as an economic analyst and tax consultant for private firms. He has published articles on international investment and fiscal policy issues.
