AUEB a European Hub for educating undergraduate students from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University, USA
The two institutions agreed to render the Athens University of Economics and Business a European hub for educating undergraduate students from the Kelley School of Business. The collaboration will start in the spring semester of the academic year 2022-23, with Kelley's first students taking courses at AUEB whose credits will count towards their U.S. degree.
This is an additional collaboration between AUEB and one of the leading Business Schools in the USA. More specifically, the Kelley School of Business has been named by the Princeton Review in 2021 as the 3rd best MBA in Marketing, and 7th on quality of faculty in the US. The 2021 QS MBA Rankings have ranked Kelley 38th globally.
The evaluation and selection process of AUEB lasted more than a year, during which Kelley officials visited AUEB and evaluated its programs, faculty, and infrastructure. An important role in the final cooperation decision was played by the effective operation of AUEB’s Erasmus program, as well as the broad number of courses offered to international students, which exceed 70 annually.
It is an additional step that deepens the collaboration between the two institutions, which started in the last two years and through which not only research collaborations between professors of the two institutions on the subject area of Analytics, but also collaborations between their undergraduate students have been implemented. More specifically, in the spring semester of the 2021-22 academic year, Kelley students visited AUEB and collaborated with students from all four Departments of AUEB’s School of Business Administration. The students were divided into mixed groups and studied a fast-growing Greek start-up. The culmination of the collaboration, which was supervised by professors from the two institutions, was students presenting their proposals to the management of the Greek company.
The Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Growth at AUEB, Prof. Vassilis Papadakis noted: 'This is another international collaboration with an important US University. We aspire to expand these into areas such as research collaborations on subjects of expertise of both institutions, in the development of joint programs such as summer schools, as well as collaborations at all three levels of study.
