Athens University of Economics and Business receives delegates of 16 leading American Universities
On Monday, November 7, delegates of 16 leading American Universities visited the campus of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), as part of the International Academic Partnership Program, an initiative taken by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. The Athens University of Economics & Business received delegates from the following institutions:

· Johns Hopkins University
· Columbia University
· USC, Viterbi School of Engineering
· Carnegie Mellon University
· University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign
· William & Mary
· Indiana University
· California Polytechnic University
· Ohio Northern University
· University of Cincinnati
· University of Kentucky
· Widener University
· University of South Alabama
· York College of Pennsylvania
· Joliet Junior College
The delegates of the American universities were received at the Athens University of Economics and Business by AUEB’s Rector, Professor Dimitris Bourantonis, and the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Development, Professor Vassilis Papadakis, who presented the University's work focusing on the strategic goal of internationalization and its actions for the development of strategic alliances and strengthening of the Institution's international educational and research collaborations with higher learning institutions and research bodies abroad.
On behalf of the American delegation, Mr. Shawn Reynolds of Indiana University, referred to the objectives of their visit and the prospect of collaboration in areas of common interest.
Professor Katerina Pramatari, scientific manager of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at AUEB, presented the work of the Centre, which has as its main objective the support of business groups during the early stages of their development and the connection of entrepreneurship with the market via open innovation programs.
During the visit, the 16 delegates discussed with members of the teaching staff about collaborations, in a wide range of possibilities, such as joint study programs, creation of summer schools, research collaborations, visits of foreign students to Athens etc.
At the end of the event, AUEB’s Rector, Professor Mr. Dimitris Bourandonis, emphasized that "Today we had the opportunity to meet the delegates of 16 leading American Universities, within the framework of the International Academic Partnership Program, which is an initiative taken by the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs. AUEB’s administration, the deans of the Faculties and the Heads of the Departments after the University’s presentation event, discussed possible collaborations regarding various activities of the interested parties. We are particularly satisfied by the high interest shown by the delegates of the Universities. These collaborations open horizons in research and education for the benefit of our students, staff, and graduates. The strategic goal of AUEB’s internationalization that we have set from the beginning, continues to be fulfilled through such high-level quality collaborations".
