Participation of QAU AUEB in the UN Global Compact Network Greece Annual Event

The Quality Assurance Unit of the Athens University of Economics and Business participated on 10.12.2024 in the annual event of the UN Global Compact Network Greece, which brought together representatives of the Government, the European Commission, the United Nations, the business world, academia and civil society, with the aim of promoting responsible and sustainable management of water resources.

The event entitled "Forward Faster: Water Management as a Business Matter" was held on International Human Rights Day, as access to water is a fundamental human right, highlighting the need for ambitious water action by the private and public sectors through the use of new and innovative technologies.

The Athens University of Economics and Business has been participating in the "Global Compact" since March 2013, while reports can be found HERE and is encouraged to support the initiative in one and/or more of the following ways:

  • Training on issues related to the "Global Compact",
  • Applied research and leadership on the Global Compact;
  • Dissemination of the principles of the Global Compact;
  • Providing support to businesses participating in the Global Compact;
  • Lending capacity for local networks and for the Global Compact Office.

It is worth mentioning that the International MBA and the Department of Management Science and Technology have also been participants in the initiative since 2006 and 2007 respectively. In addition, the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Department of Management Science and Technology and the International MBA are members of the Greek Global Compact Network.
