Athens University of Economics and Business Receives the "Olympic Kyniskas’ Award" from EBEN Europe

The Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) has once again been honored with the "Olympic Kyniskas’ Award" by EBEN Europe (European Business Ethics Network), during a prestigious ceremony held on June 17, 2025, at the French Institute of Athens.

The award was received by Ms. Panagiota Ioakeim, Acting Head of the University’s Quality Assurance Unit.

The "Olympic Kyniskas’ Award" is presented to organizations scoring 600–699 in EBEN’s Responsible Management Excellence (RME) Model, and which meet strict criteria in business ethics, transparency, and social contribution.

Key evaluation highlights included:

  • Innovation in education: New academic programs incorporating Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, and digital transformation.
  • Internationalization: Launch of English-language postgraduate programs in collaboration with international universities (e.g., University of Pavia, Derham, Georgia).
  • Social responsibility: Participation in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) initiative, active support for students with disabilities, and operation of a digital library.
  • Environmental awareness: 70% reduction in energy consumption, recycling programs, bio-waste management, and implementation of an environmental ethics policy.
  • Governance & transparency: Clear strategic planning, integration of KPIs, and systematic internal auditing.

This recognition reflects the University’s long-standing commitment to becoming a model of academic excellence and ethical leadership at a European level.

At the award ceremony, Professor Nancy Papalexandri, Emeritus Professor of Human Resource Management at the Department of Marketing and Communication of the Athens University of Economics and Business, was also present.
