The program of studies of the Department of Statistics has a similar structure to the programs of other European Universities, especially those that have bilateral co-operations agreements. The program is based on the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and lasts for four years (eight semesters). Every course has been assigned a specific number of credits as shown in the Program of Studies. The degree contains compulsory courses, compulsory under selection courses and elective courses. Elective courses can be chosen either from those offered by the Department of Statistics or offered by other Departments of the University. Most courses available in the degree are organized as a mixture of lectures and related classes. The total number of teaching per course varies from 2 to 5 hours per week.
Most courses are assessed by a two- or three-hour examination at the end of each semester. A small number of courses are assessed by examination as well as by project work.
